SHE'BALTIMORE

A letter from She’ Baltimore

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

We’re counting down the weeks and days until She’Baltimore premiers at the Lof/t Theater- right in the heart of the place where Ira Kip’s seed became this plant; a plant whose vines are spreading out, into and around the community that needs it most… sprouting its painful and complicated beauty into the hearts of all those open enough to heed its messages.  Everyone involved in the 1st American premiere of this play is incessantly shuffling and calling; reaching out and back, in hopes of seeing you at this long awaited piece of theater. Like all the work Ira touches, its aiming straight for your soul and no woman who has ever loved another should miss it. The show’s producer, Nicol Moeller, is hard at work coordinating every nuance of the production, while the legacy of the PancakeGallery infuses the performances with its artful spirit; breathing life into the vision of Ira’s brainchild.

A true artist recognizes Baltimore’s ever changing ethereal realness, but so few have been able to articulate how its gay community majorly contributes to that fact. Usually its loudest cheerleader, and often its strongest foundation, gay Baltimore embodies the hope of the future- unbiased to color, gender and love.  With respect and admiration for this open and uncommon city, Ira shows us what the alternative communities and Baltimore itself still need……

The recognition and support of some of its most profound inhabitants.

We ask (though we ain’t too proud to beg!) for you to join us; first for a very important benefit on Valentine’s Day February 14th, supporting House of Ruth Maryland, and then for one of the incredible performances beginning February 17th and running through February 26th, with 8pm show times. After select shows, Ira and the cast will “talk-back” and take questions, or just hear you out… your thoughts on the performance and its motivations…. especially what it meant to you, and what it means to Baltimore.

PLEASE feel free to join us and bring someone everyone you love. Meet and share in this journey with us. We’re looking to grow beside you in love and understanding as the beauty of Ira’s creation unfolds. Unique, intriguing, though-provoking and strong- we urge you not to miss She’Baltimore this February.

See you there!
